Understanding Modules
How Lumière's features are organized and how per-server control works.
Last updated on
Lumière is built from separate feature modules — moderation, roles, voice, community tools, games, stats, and backups. Every module is available to every server by default, but each server can turn modules and individual commands on or off independently.
Why this matters
You don't have to use everything Lumière offers. If your server doesn't need the counting game, or you'd rather use a different backup workflow, you can disable just that piece without affecting anything else.
Controlling modules
Server admins manage this through:
/system controlFrom here you can:
- Enable or disable an entire module (for example, turning off Engagement & Games)
- Enable or disable a single command
- Whitelist or blacklist specific roles or users from a command
- Reset any command back to its default settings with
/system reset
Checking what's active
/system disabled— see everything currently turned off in your server/system access— check what restrictions apply to you specifically
This is covered in full detail in Module Management.
A note on permissions vs modules
Turning a module off is different from Discord permissions. Even with a module enabled, Discord's own permission system still applies — a member without Manage Roles, for example, still can't run role-management commands, whether or not the module itself is enabled.
