Sticky Messages

Keep an important message pinned to the bottom of an active channel.

Last updated on

A sticky message automatically reposts itself to stay at the bottom of a channel, even as new messages come in — useful for rules, ongoing announcements, or anything you want members to always see without scrolling.

All commands are grouped under /sticky and require Manage Messages.

Create a sticky message

/sticky create content message_id threshold
  • content — the text for the sticky (optional if you're copying an embed instead).
  • message_id — copy an embed from an existing message by its ID, instead of writing new content.
  • threshold — how many new messages should appear before the sticky reposts itself (default: 1, meaning it reposts after every single message).

Manage stickies

CommandWhat it does
/sticky listList all sticky messages in the server
/sticky infoShow details about the sticky in the current channel
/sticky removeRemove sticky messages from the server
/sticky toggleOpen the full sticky management dashboard
/sticky ignoreManage channels/roles/users ignored by stickies
/sticky resetRe-enable a sticky that auto-disabled after an error

A note on threshold

A threshold of 1 means the sticky reposts after every message, which keeps it always visible but generates the most traffic. In a very active channel, a higher threshold (e.g. 5 or 10) means the sticky reposts less often — fewer notifications, less visual noise, but it may briefly get buried during bursts of activity.
